Petaling Jaya, Selangor, 08 December 2010 – Lakefront Records Sdn Bhd, a recently established local recording label, is pleased to announce the release and debut of their R&B artiste, Nadia Aqilah, with her self-titled album.

“I had always dreamed of this moment and now it’s a reality... I can’t believe it!” exclaimed Nadia Aqilah about the launch of her album. “I almost gave up hope a while back, but music gave me strength so I kept at it, and before you know it, I was in the studios recording my album!” Her Malay single, “D.I.V.A” has been receiving air-play on a local radio station the past few weeks.

Last seen in her stage performance in the local musical, “The Sparks of Broadway,” which was where Lakefront Records Sdn Bhd. CEO, Bryan Tan, recognised her talent instantly. Within weeks, she was in the studio recording her first solo album.

The self-titled album, composed and produced by the young musical prodigy, Daniel Veerapen, with lyrics written almost entirely by Nadia herself, was recorded and mastered entirely in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It also features LA Hip Hop artiste, KJ The Artist, a member of the sibling duo, Chrome Cats (also signed to Lakefront Records) Their collaboration on the song happened by chance, when Lakefront Records CEO forwarded the song to the Chrome Cats.

Now with the album done, Nadia is poised to launch her career as a solo artiste, The album consists of ten songs, of which three are in Malay, namely “Teman,” “Percaya,” and “D.I.V.A,” all penned by Nadia. “This album is totally me. I’ve finally found an avenue for my voice, it’s in R&B, and I totally love it!”

About Nadia Aqilah

Nadia Aqilah Bajuri  was born on August 16, 1985 in Batu Pahat, Johor and raised in Ampang, Selangor.  Her early beginnings in the musical scene saw her as a member of two female bands/groups, M’Braze (1998-2000) and Luscious (2000- 2007) Desiring to further pursue entertainment, Nadia ventured into acting and dancing, was quickly noticed and offered roles in various local musicals and television programmes, notably “Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical,” “P. Ramlee The Musical,” “Emil Emilda,” “Sindarella,” “Merah Puteh” and “Tari Tirana.” But singing is where Nadia’s passion ignites. Her professional musical influences range from Mariah Carey to Ella, Aisyah and Francesca Peters.

about having time out...

aduh!! semenjak habis URMI sampai today belum ado masa untuk bergumbira lagi. Kerja,. Kerja. kerja but happy berkerja

baru malam semalam dapat time out sekejap. sempat meluangkan masa dengan ensemble My Name Is Remy dan survivors Star Maker boot-camp makan - makan happy sakan di majlis pembukaan Restoran baru Datin Seri Tiara The Borneo Rainforest Café @ Sunway berhadapan dengan hotel sunway resort and spa

kite orang makan sakan sebab semua sedap! bukan puji sebab saya akan berkerja untuk Tiara dalam My name Is Remy tetapi puji sebab memang sedap. tak percaya tanya Pat yang makan sakan dengan penambahan berkali kali(hahaha)... paling saya suka nasi dagang. nasi kerabu pun sedap. umai pun sedap, ketam bakar dan kerang bakar pun sedap (eh eh macam advertisement pulak)

anyway semua sedaplah... tak caya tanya sama SM, megat, sabrina hassan, bebudak luscious dan Infinatez (gangstars) , DJ suria Azrol juga para jemputan lain yang hadir seperti sofea jane, juliza adlizan dan Datuk Siti Nurhaliza! yang datang bersama suami masing masing (motif utama saya tulis nama nama ini adalah untuk memberitahu mereka mereka yang dijemput tapi tak datang untuk merasa jealous) hahaha

about disturbing news

Received a disturbing news from my brother Amin (no 3 : yusmin) that our brother Ayi (no 4 : yusri) got involved in an accident today.

From the information i gathered from him, Ayi's motorbike smashed into a house after avoiding an oncoming motorbike and fractured his left elbow badly. According to Amin, the doctor said the chances of his left arm recovering is 50-50. Ayi got transfered from Kuala Lipis Hospital (small town hospital) just now to Temerloh Hospital (bigger hospital with better facilities)for immediate operation to his fractured elbow.

I hope and pray hard Ayi will recover soon as his job in Lipis gold mine which pays him really well, depends on his ability to do hard works especially with his hands. I was wondering why did he decided to take his motorbike instead of his car today. but then again it's god's willing and hope he'll be ok soon (ayi's engaged and plans to get married soon).

I'll be off line from the web for a few days as I'll be in my good old kampung Kuala Lipis for Ayi. please pray for Ayi's fast recovery and Thank You in advance.

about running around KL tawaf...

Fu Yoh! today is one of those hari sibuk saya... Basuh baju after subuh... left for AF around 7.30am, stayed on for awhile since Raimee lambat sampai, drove straight to Astro to go on air at SinarFM and Lite FM, drove to taman Melati to meet my keluarga angkat yang dah 12 tahun tak jumpa then drove straight to PJ for URMI/Tempest's rehearsal... Tawaf satu KL aku hari ini...

Pagi tadi sampai di Akademi, saya hadiahkan (dari pihak produksi Astro) sikat baru untuk Mila sebab sikat kesayangan dia patah semalam dan selepas sessi pemanasan vokal, diaorang minta buat sessi kritik sesama sendiri. Tujuan sessi ini ialah, sebelum dikritik tenaga pengajar pada petangnya, mereka mahu mengkritik sesama sendiri. tujuan utama saya mengadakan sessi ini pula ialah kerana, jika kita tahu mengkritik, kita harus tahu bahawa benda yang salah itu adalah salah dan seharusnya kita sendiri dapat mengelak dari membuat salah yang sama. Dalam sessi ini selalunya saya akan mendiamkan diri, bersikap neutral, tetapi selalunya saya tetap akan tegur juga kerana cikgu Syafi dan Abang Lan sudah amanahkan kepada saya untuk tegur apa yang perlu.

Habis di AF saya bergegas ke Astro untuk on-air bersama David Low di Sinar FM sebagai wakil ensemble PGLm unntuk ditemuramah bagi pencalonan kami di 5th Annual Boh Cameronian Awards yang bakal berlangsung Ahad ini di Mandarin Oriental KL. Sepatutnya saya bersama Baby Arin and Sabrina Hassan (Dance Captain kami dan juga model dalam klip video Mungkir Bahagia) tetapi diorang tak dapat datang sebab busy so nasib baik ada Nadia (Lucious). Dah lama tak interview on-air... sekali cakap... kitaorang berdua macam budak baru dapat hisap susu... gelojoh bercakap... merapu rapu hahaha. habis di SinarFM terus masuk konti LiteFM (penyiar radio rasmi). Habis je di Astro, saya hantar Nadia ke Ampang Point dan terus melencong jumpa keluarga angkat di Taman Melati yang lama tak jumpa. rindu. Dan kemudian, terus bergegas ke PJ untuk sessi latihan Tempest. satu KL saya buat pusingan. Tawaf. Baru saja sampai rumah... tak sempat nak tengok Pat Ibrahim dalam So You Think You Can Dance and Diari AF. Boleh tak you all tolong update apa yang berlaku dalam Diari tadi... good nite and thank you for dropping by. Need to take my hot shower now. See you here and on TVland tomorrow.

about being sick and fasha ... cak cak cak

yesterday was a "not so good" day for me... had slight fever, demam sikit. tapi nasib baik hari ini aku fully recovered. thank god.

last night was Malaysian TV premiere of Cicak-Man. it was my 3rd time watching it after the cinema and the special premiere that me, Megat, sabrina and Pat went to 3 months before it was released. it was fun but what was more fun was the game i played with my AF5 adiks yesterday morning after vocal warmups. saja aku kacau they all sebab dalam Akademi they all tak boleh tengok TV lagipun semasa tayangan itu they were doing the full dress rehearsal so i ask them to be creative and think out of the box to come up with thier own intrepataion of Cicak-man. it was fun to see them jadi klon-klon aznil, apek and fasha. ada 3 fasha semalaman, Mila Shanda, Candy Shanda and Heliza Sanda. hehehe kalau you all tengok diari semalam kelakar... group yang menang aku janji belanja coklat on Monday (tak boleh today sebab malam nanti nak perform).
